Unauthorized external access is controlled, trapped real-time with multiple access levels and systems in place to control and monitor who views your security-related data.

Information Security

Our Exchange environment is protected by the latest firewall, intrusion detection, Antispam and antivirus technology, ensuring that your information is always kept secure. Email between mailboxes on our system is natively encrypted for additional security and our Secure Mail service allows clients to communicate outside the organization with military-grade encryption of email and attachments. We are also compliant with the RIM Security Guidelines.

Firewall Protection

GlobalOutlook uses multiple redundant, enterprise-class firewall systems to ensure that no unauthorized users can access your Exchange environment. This system is a purpose-built security system that integrates firewall, VPN, DMZ (De Militarized Zone) and traffic management to prevent unwarranted intrusions and ensures that only authorized requests are processed.

Intrusion Detection System

In addition to our firewall protection, GlobalOutlook also uses an intrusion detection system (IDS) that detects malicious network traffic and computer usage that often cannot be caught by a conventional firewall. The system monitors for unusual traffic patterns and alerts the system administrators of any suspicious behavior. IDS can help to prevent network attacks against vulnerable services, data driven attacks on applications, host based attacks such as privilege escalation, unauthorized logins and access to sensitive files, and malware (viruses, Trojan horses, and worms).

Network Architecture

Global Outlook’s system architecture consists of a redundant configuration, supporting thousands of simultaneous clients with high performance business email and collaboration services. Multiple front-end and back-end servers provide load balancing and failover.

Antivirus

GlobalOutlook provides comprehensive managed antivirus protection to all Exchange mailboxes, free of charge. Our advanced antivirus software catches 99.999% of all viruses that could potentially end up in your inbox and cause harm to your mailboxes and Exchange environment. The virus databases are updated multiple times per day and GlobalOutlook continuously manages the antivirus software and virus definitions.

Physical security

Global Outlook’s data centers adhere to the strictest standards in physical security. All premises are closely monitored and guarded 24x7x365 with sophisticated pan/tilt CCTV covering every part of the facility. Access to servers is restricted to a limited number of authorized engineers.

Security is strictly enforced using the very latest technology, including electronic man-trap devices between lobby and datacenter, motion sensors and controlled ID key-cards. Security guards are stationed at every entrance to the site.
